NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING: Development Charges Bylaw

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

On March 3, 2026, the Town of Minto Council will hold a public meeting pursuant to The Development Charges Act, regarding proposed development charge rates and policies that will be applied throughout the Town. Enactment of a new development charges by-law by Council will occur on a date after the public meeting.

Development charges are levied against new development and are a primary source of funding for growth-related capital expenses Town services funded by development charges include parks and major indoor recreation facilities; development-related studies; roads and related services; water supply and wastewater collection; and stormwater drainage and control services.

Council will hold at least one public meeting to allow the public the opportunity to review and provide comments related to the February 5, 2026 development charges background study.

All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting:

In order that sufficient information is made available to the public, the background study is available online at the municipality’s website (https://www.town.minto.on.ca/government/studies-plans-and-reports).

Copies of the proposed D.C. by-law and the background study are also available at the Municipal office at the above noted address.

Any person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the by-law. Written submissions are invited and should be directed to Annilene McRobb, Director of Legislative Services/Clerk at: annilene@town.minto.on.ca  no later than 12:00 PM Tuesday March 3, 2026.  Written comments received prior to the meeting and submissions made at the public meeting will be considered by Council prior to the enactment of a new development charges by-law.
