Job Description

Volunteers are trained to offer in home, in community and virtual volunteer support to Hospice Wellington registered community clients who are living with a life limiting illness, those who are caregivers and those who are living with loss. Volunteers can choose from roles including one to one companionship, facilitating workshops, supporting peer support groups, legacy and memory making, offering wellness services like mediation, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Yoga. Volunteers can contribute as many hours as they chose and will be supported by dedicated staff through their volunteer assignments.

Qualifications

At Hospice Wellington, we believe every story matters. Our volunteers offer compassionate care, that support our core values, kindness, collaboration and inclusion. Each new volunteer must complete New Volunteer Training with Hospice Wellington and additional specialized training prior to role placement.
