Join journalist and storyteller, Garvia Bailey for a multi-media exploration into the lives of two extraordinarily driven and courageous Black women; Sylvia Young, a freedom seeker whose remarkable story of attempted kidnapping during the early days of emancipation, brought a newly formed Stratford, Ontario into the national spotlight. And the story of Eva Bailey (Garvia’s mother) who 120 years after Sylvia, brought her family to Stratford to settle into the fertile soil of acceptance and safety first tilled by Sylvia Young. What can their stories teach us about who we were, who we are today and who we strive to be?
